(Using Dogpile, type in what does my name mean. Then share with the class what your name means. After the blog is read.)
Trivial Fact of the
Day: Cranberries are sorted for ripeness by
actually dribbling them. A fully ripened cranberry can be dribbled like a
basketball.
Vocabulary Word of
the Day: etymology (noun) – this fancy word means the study of where words came from and/or what they originally meant. If you know what your own name means, you
have begun to learn its etymology.
I am out sick again today, so please be on your best behavior. I will be back tomorrow.

What is the 5th amendment? Why was it written? How will it help Phillip? Miss Narwin??
Read the 5th Amendment on netschool. What does it mean? Begin rough draft of an essay that describes the 5th Amendment. In your writer's notebook, go to the first blank page in Notes and title it 5th amendment and the page number. Go back to the TOC and write 5th amendment and the page number. Create a Bubble Map. Write 5th amendment in the middle bubble. Another smaller bubble titled Real Meaning, My Meaning, Real life example, and example from NBT. If finished with all of the above begin the next step of research. Look on my netschool site and click on 5th amendment cases. Read at least 5. Decide on the one that you could easily write about and put the summary in the Real Life example.
