It’s April 9.
Today is “Winston Churchill Day.”  In 1963, the former British Prime Minister was made an honorary U.S. Citizen by Congress.

Trivial Fact of the Day:   It takes an act of Congress to declare someone an honorary United States citizen.  Other than Winston Churchill, only six other people have earned this honor. Churchill and Mother Teresa are the only two recipients to NOT earn the honor posthumously**.
Interesting Quote of the Day:  “Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”  --Mother Teresa
**Vocabulary Word of the Day:  posthumous (adjective) – use this adjective to describe an honor or award that is given to someone who has passed away before the award was given.  What kind of awards can be given posthumously?

Happy Terrific Tuesday!! Have you turned in your Persuasuve Essay?? Did you check the requirements before you submitted?? Take 2 minutes to read over your essay and check for all of the requirements.
