It’s September 16.
Today is both National “Mayflower Day” and “Trail of Tears Commemoration Day.”  Any connections between the two?

Trivial Fact of the Day:   S.O.S. became the international signal of distress in 1912, and the Titanic was the first ship to ever use it before sinking in April of that same  year.
Interesting Quote of the Day:  “Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll just get run over if you sit there.”  --Will Rogers (American humorist)
Vocabulary Word of the Day:  invigorate (verb) – this action word means to fill with life and energy.  What are some ways you can invigorate your writing?

Today is silent reading day!! Block 1 - goal 100 pages
Block 2, 3, 4 - 75 pages. Remember: you are given 80 minutes a week during the school week. Be sure to stay focused and you will reach your goal.

Block 1 - We will complete our unpacking posters and present our posters and begin working on poetry.
Block 2, 3, 4 - We will complete our Priscilla and the Wimps posters and begin discussing what a bibliography is and why it is so important.
