It’s January 23.
Today is “National Handwriting Day.”  How will you legibly celebrate?

Trivial Fact of the Day:   Leonardo Da Vinci wrote many notes to himself in “mirror style,” writing the letters backwards from right to left.  Write “in mirror” here.

Interesting Quote of the Day: It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things. --Leonardo Da Vinci  (Italian Renaissance man)

Vocabulary Word of the Day:  laudatory (adjective) – use this word to describe a noun that is expressing praise or admiration.  Where do you find written laudatory remarks?  Where would you like to find more such remarks?

Pre-AP - Your Unit 7 quizzes are graded and will be passed out today. Hmmmmm...I wondered who studied????? Did you remember your homework???? We will discuss what you watched and noticed about the news. Finally, we are going to read a folktale and turn it into a news story.

OGL - Vocabulary still unclear?? Maybe a tree with roots will make it clearer.  Finish "Our Friend Martin" and use the information gathered from the movie to create a Shape poem. This is a way for you to show off your knowledge of MLK Jr.
