It’s April 21.
Today is “National Kindergarten Day,” honoring Friedrich Froebel’s birth date.  He started the first kindergarten in Germany in 1837.
What’s your fondest or worst memory of kindergarten?
Trivial Fact of the Day:   Kinder is the German word for children, and garten is their word for garden.  Kindergarten = garden of children.  Make sense?

Interesting Quote of the Day:  “The Universe is one great kindergarten for man. Everything that exists has brought with it its own peculiar lesson.”  --Orison Swett Marden (American author)

Vocabulary Word of the Day:  asylum (noun) – this can be both a place of protection or sanctuary, and it can also be a place to house the mentally insane.  When thinking about your own kindergarten days, which meaning of the word asylum seems more appropriate?

Relax.
