It’s May 20.
Today is “Pick Strawberries Day.”  What’s the best way to eat this fruit?

Trivial Fact of the Day:   Strawberries are members of the rose family.  There is a legend that claims they got their name in the nineteenth century because indigent** English children picked them, strung the berries together using straws of grass, and sold them as “straws of berries.”  Makes you wonder how gooseberries and huckleberries were named then, right?
Interesting Quote of the Day:  “You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving.”  --Robert Louis Stevenson (Scottish novelist)
**Vocabulary Word of the Day:  indigent (adjective) – use this adjective to describe a person who is very poor or impoverished. What’s the best way to help an indigent individual?  The best way to help the indigent members of society?
Have a terrific Tuesday!!
