It’s April 29.
It was patented on this day in 1913, making today “National Zipper Day.”  How should people celebrate this holiday?

Trivial Fact of the Day: When B. F. Goodrich ordered a huge quantity of them for the rubber galoshes he was manufacturing, he liked the "z-z-zip" sound they made and onomatopoeically** coined the name zipper.
Interesting Quote of the Day:  First you forget names, then you forget faces. Next you forget to pull your zipper up and finally, you forget to pull it down.”  --George Burns (American comedian and actor)
**Vocabulary Word of the Day:  onomatopoeia (noun) – the process of forming a word based on a sound effect associated with that word.  You probably knew this word, but can you teach yourself to spell it correctly today?
